Respective Advantages Enhance the Mutual Cooperation
In the fine days of winter season, Mr. Yuichi Hirano, General Manager of SMBC Tokyo Chuo Corporate Business Office-1, Mr. Ricky Ng, General Manager of SMBC (CHINA) Corporate Banking Dept.II and their group visited the major owners of SIH in Nov. 20th, 2017.
Accompanied by Mr. Jianliang Shao, Chief Representative in Shanghai of SIH, SMBC group visited Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Development Co., Ltd.(SCIP) located in Caojing area in the morning, and were welcomed by Mr. Jianguo Sun, Deputy General Manager of SCIP. Mr. Sun introduced that SCIP was established with 9 million Yuan in 1996, it has become a modern petro-chemical industrial base with integration of public utility, logistic transportation, environmental protection and management service since then. The Park covers 36 square km, and it accommodated more than 50 multinational companies and state-owned huge petro-chemical enterprises so far. The members of SMBC visited the Park after the introduction. Mr. Hirano greatly appreciated the achievement of SCIP, and expressed that SMBC would play the role of intermediary to introduce more Japanese fine chemical enterprises to enter the Park.
SMBC group visited Shanghai Industrial Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIIG) in the afternoon, to meet with Mr. Ping Qiu, President and Mr. Guorong Zhang, Vice-President of SIIG. Mr. Qiu briefed the main business, developing history and assets of SIIG, and hoped that SMBC would take a full advantage of client resource, to introduce some consumer goods manufacturers with the technical advantage to China. Therefore, Mr. Hirano said that his bank was willing to cooperate with the SIIG, to organized investment forum in due course.
SMBC group also visited Shanghai International Commercial Co., Ltd. (SICC), a subsidiary of SIH. Mr. Meng and Mr. Hirano were very pleased to be able to meet each other in Shanghai. Mr. Hirano listened with interest to Mr. Meng’s introduction about the interactive operation mode on the platform of home and abroad. They gladly reviewed the cooperative history between the enterprise and the bank in recent years.
In the evening, SMBC group visited SIIC and met with Mr. Bo Xu, Executive Director, Vice-President and CFO of SIIC. Mr. Xu highly appreciated the proposal submitted by Mr. Hirano about that SIH and SMBC would jointly hold the relevant celebration on the occasion of 45th anniversary of Sino-Japan diplomatic ties normalization and 40th anniversary of the signing of China-Japan Peace & Friendship Treaty. Mr. Xu said, our overseas enterprises should actively make contribution for the China-Japan Friendship. Mr. Hirano said and sincerely appreciated with emotion, thanks to the arrangement by SIH, the visiting group had good chance to meet the leaders of SIH’s owners, thus created the opportunities to expand the further business for SMBC. He said that the owner’s expectation of SIH’s future is the driving force for SMBC to support SIH, so that the bank would always help SIH make the better achievement for the owners
The both sides tentatively agreed that led by Mr. Hirano, the Hongkong Seminar would be held in early spring of 2018. The subsidiaries of SIIC and SMBC would discuss the issues about the all around cooperation among the related parties in Shanghai , Tokyo and Hongkong, therefore try to make the progress for the cooperation in wider field and higher level.
